Thank you for your interest in our Fellowship Programs. If you would like to be considered for a Fellowship opportunity with our program, please complete the application form below. Please note, applications for the 2026-2028 cycle opens September 15, 2025 and closes October 20, 2025.

If applying to one or more of the fellowships listed below, the following items are required:

1. Complete all sections of the application form below.

2. Submit your curriculum vitae using the “Choose File” button at the bottom of the form.

3. Discuss with your referees the possible need for a letter of recommendation. Letters of recommendation will only be requested if you are selected for an interview. 4. These fellowship positions are unable to provide any visa sponsorship for employment. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for the entire duration of the program and work full-time hours.

UIC is offering up to five two-year fellowships for the 2026-2028 cycle, which are in the process of being confirmed; they are likely to include renewals by Pfizer, Takeda, and AbbVie.

The UIC/Pfizer 2-year fellowship in Health Economic and Outcomes Research involves being located in Chicago at UIC for the first year where the fellow participates in research projects and completes coursework. In the second year, the fellow may be located at Pfizer headquarters in Manhattan, New York.

The UIC/Takeda 2-year fellowship in Health Economics and Outcomes Research involves being located in Chicago at UIC for the first year where the fellow participates in research projects and completes coursework. In the second year, fellows may be located at the Takeda headquarters in Cambridge, MA.

The UIC/AbbVie 2-year fellowship in Pharmacovigilance and Patient Safety involves being located in Chicago at UIC for the first year where the fellow participates in research projects and completes coursework. In the second year, the fellow will split their time between Chicago (at UIC) and one of the AbbVie campuses in the northern Chicago suburbs. There is no 2026-2028 fellowship; next recruitment cycle for this fellowship is expected to be 2027-2029.

The UIC/AbbVie 2-year Fellowship in Health Economics and Outcomes Research involves being located in Chicago at UIC for the first year where the Fellow participates in research projects and completes coursework. In the second year, the Fellow will be assigned to one of 3 key areas at AbbVie HEOR: HEOR Therapeutic Area Strategy, Health Economics/Real-world Evidence Center of Expertise, or Patient Centered Outcomes Research Center of Expertise. Depending on assignment and team location, the Fellow will be based on-site at Mettawa, IL, Irvine, CA, or Florham Park, NJ.

For any of the programs, fellows may optionally apply to UIC’s Department of Pharmacy Systems Outcomes & Policy graduate program. Admission is not automatic; it is a competitive, selective process independent of the fellowship. Although not required, and depending on current experience and degrees, application to the graduate program is encouraged.
